TASK 1 - Google Doodle Emily Noether

Read the Google Doodle article about Emily Noether's accomplishments on her 133rd birthday, and write one paragraph describing a challenge that you've had to face in order to achieve a goal.  Compare a specific instance in your life to a difficulty Noether must have been confronted with, and argue why you will also succeed in your pursuits.

A challenge in my life that I faced and overcame is the time I was the only girl in the robotics club. It was hard. The boys treated me funny and never took my thoughts and ideas into consideration when working on our robot. One boy used to always tell me, "Your a girl, you don't know anything about robots." Being in the club made me feel unappreciated, and as if my skills and knowledge were of no use there. As badly as I wanted to be in the club, If it weren't for my best friend, I would have quit the club the week after I started. I didn't want the boys to feel like they had ran me out or they were right so I started building my own robot. My robot started working and looking better than theirs to where the club director made the boys dump their project and use mine. I was also made team captain. It made the other boys so mad but I felt so accomplished. Just like Emily Noether, I over came the troubles of being the only female and being a girl used against me. After this incident I will never let anything stand in my way. I will also succeed in any future pursuits due to the confidence and determination I now posses. I can think back to how I stayed positive in a negative situation and came out successful.
