Week 14a- Print Ready Design-Layout Terms

font (serif & sans-serif):
  • In typography, a sans-serifsans serifgothicsan serif or simply sans typeface is one that does not have the small projecting features called "serifs" at the end of strokes.

margin:
  • Margin (typography), the white space that surrounds the content of a page
guide (illustrator guides):
  • Guides help you to line control objects and paths easily in Illustrator
bleed:
  • an instance of printing an illustration, design, or text to the edge of the page.
CMYK: 
  • The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself.
resolution:
  • the ability of a device to show an image clearly and with a lot of detail
copy proof:
  • Copy proof paper stops unwanted copies. Anti-copy paper includes, photocopy proof, scanner proof, fax proof.
artboard:
  • Artboards allow you to create fixed frames on Sketch's infinite canvas, but they're completely optional. 
registration mark:
  • The registered trademark symbol, designated by ® (the circled capital letter R), is a symbol that provides notice that the preceding word or symbol is a trademark or service mark that has been registered with a national trademark office.
Layout border:
  • A border layout lays out a container, arranging and resizing its components to fit in five regions: north, south, east, west, and center.
Layout dimensions:
  • You can edit the dimension string, length of the extension lines, and length of the dimension line after you have created a linear dimension.

ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT WK12-001

Rule of Thirds: a principle of the Golden ratio with broad application as a "rule of thumb" or guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs.


Resolution:the ability of a device to show an image clearly and with a lot of detail

Camera functions:the actions/ different things the camera can preform 

Auto Focus: optical system uses a sensor, a control system and a motor or tunable optical element to focus automatically or on a manually selected point or area.

White Balance (ISO): the ISO setting on a digital camera adjusts the sensor's sensitivity to light.

Shot Timer: a logic process whereby a timer is started by the action of a push button (or similar) causing an actuator such as a cylinder to outstroke (or return) after a delay period.
